Dee-dee Guerra joined the MCVB in 2007, first as the Tourism Services Representative then becoming Tourism Sales Manager in 2008. In May 2012, she was named by the MCVB Board of Directors as the organization’s Interim Executive Director. In 2013, the board named her the Executive Director of the organization.

Ms. Guerra became a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) in 2009 and, in 2014, was awarded her Texas Destination Marketer (TDM) Certification. She also completed Destination Marketing Sales Academy Destination Selling I & II in November 2008 through Destination Marketing Association International. In 2017, Ms. Guerra completed all coursework toward her Certified Tourism Executive (CTE) designation from Travel & Tourism College, a program of the Texas Travel Industry Association (TTIA).

Prior to joining the MCVB, Ms. Guerra pursued her degree in Bilingual Education, early childhood through 4th grade, and provided enrichment programs to daycares teaching Spanish. She previously managed the supply store for the Art Institute of Dallas and was the assistant bookstore manager at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio. Born in the Rio Grande Valley, Ms. Guerra started her career with JCPenney as a sales person and moved into their management intern program, after receiving her associates at Wade Fashion College in Dallas.

Ms. Guerra also has a B.S. from Texas Women's University (Denton, 2006) and is a member of Theta Kappa Honors Fraternity (1987-88, 2002-06).
