  1. Dinosaurs Live! Life-Size Animatronic Dinosaurs

    August 31, 2019, 9:00 AM - February 17, 2020, 5:00 PM @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    Let your imagination run wild as you travel back in time along a half-mile nature trail with ten life-size animatronic dinosaurs. During the 14th Annual Dinosaurs Live! Life-Size Animatronic Dinosaurs exhibit, these animatronic dinosaurs will move and roar, providing an experience sure to captivate visitors. This exhibit will also offer interesting facts about both herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs. Children and the young at heart will also have the opportunity to play on stationary baby dinosaurs, a photo-op Tyrannosaurus rex and a photo op Pachyrhinosaurus. This year’s exhibit will also a feature an outdoor hadrosaur fossil dig to inspire future paleontologists. The Dinosaurs Live! exhibit trail is jogging-stroller friendly (umbrella strollers are not recommended), giving families and friends a unique, exciting and educational activity to experience together.

  4. McKinney Farmers Market at Chestnut Square

    We work hard to re-create the feel of bygone market days held in the old Jockey lot in downtown McKinney. Meet friends, share local news and bring a chair and sit a while! Most every Saturday there’s a special tour, event, music or demonstration. Local and organic meat, dairy, honey and produce vendors offer their wares every Saturday at Chestnut Square near downtown McKinney. Market vendors also offer baked goods, artisan & specialty foods, wine, plants & flowers, craft items and more! *Please note: market hours may vary according to season and special events.     These programs are held on the third Saturday of each month and cover a variety of subjects. Third Saturday Nature Talks are open to the public and are free with paid general admission or Heard Museum Membership. Many of these programs will have an outside component.
