    January 20, 2019, 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

The night of January 20th gives us the rare opportunity to observe a total lunar eclipse before midnight, and the Heard is ready to celebrate this spectacular event! Join us as we use our Magic Planet exhibit to explore lunar phases and eclipses and then settle down with us on the event lawn to take in the moon’s magical journey through the shadow of the Earth. For those who need a little movement along the way, the exhibit hall and nature store will be open and family-friendly activities will be available near the eclipse-viewing area. You’re welcome to bring your own picnic and as many pillows and blankets as you need to make a comfortable viewing-nest on the ground! Camp or lounge chairs also welcome. Long-pants and closed-toed shoes highly recommended. Pre-registration is required.
