  1. April is National Poetry Month! Let’s Celebrate.

    The members of the Mockingbird Poetry Society (a chapter of the Poetry Society of Texas) will celebrate April as National Poetry Month. Starting on Saturday, April 1 to end of the month, the Mockingbirds are in-charge of an April Display Cabinet in Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library at 101 E. Hunt, downtown McKinney.

  2. Call for International Artists for a Pop Up Art Gallery

    Are you an Artist? Would you like to have your artwork displayed overseas for a month and then here for a month? If so, then you might be interested in entering the SCHON EVERYWHERE gallery exchange event, a partnership between the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts and the Freya Frahm Event Center in Germany. The Call for Artists prospectus is located under the EVENTS tab at: www.heardcraig.org. Submission and payment are due by the end of May.

  3. Nature Story Times

    April 20, 2018, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    These story times are designed primarily for children and will introduce a different nature-themed book each week. During most of the story times, a puppet, live animal or enrichment items will be included to enhance the experience. These programs should last approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the book covered.

    Steve is exceptionally excited to show his new landscapes done in what he describes as Angular Expressionism. Raised in the coastal city of Corpus Christi, TX, Steve spent most of his childhood drawing, taking inspiration from comic books, album art and the colorful decor of his Hispanic heritage. In later years his artistic concepts have been inspired by observation, human emotion, inward struggles, spirituality and daily life.

  7. Highway 31 CD Release Show

    April 20, 2018, 8:00 PM - 11:30 PM @ The Sanctuary Music & Events Center

    The Guitar Sanctuary is proud to present a special CD Release Show with Highway 31 and special guests Elmont at The Sanctuary Music & Events on Friday, April 20th at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7p.m.). Everyone who attends will receive a copy of Highway 31's new CD "SO HARD TO SAY" produced and mixed by Florina Ammon (Lifehouse, U2, Jude Cole, Kiefer Sutherland, Gavin DeGraw), We will have standard Bar and Food Service available from our friends at Sterling Events & Catering.
