  1. Dinosaurs Live! at The Heard

    September 1, 2018 - February 18, 2019 @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary’s nature trails at the 13th annual Dinosaurs Live! Life-size Animatronic Dinosaurs exhibit. The exhibit always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together. See the dinosaurs move and hear them roar! Photo op and play area dinosaurs will be available as well. This year, the exhibit also features an outdoor fossil dig. The dinosaur trail is jogging stroller friendly (it is not suitable for strollers with small wheels or wheelchairs).

  2. Second Saturday Bird Walks

    October 13, 2018, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    During these walks, learn bird spotting, identification techniques and more. This is a great opportunity for new birders to get introduced to this interesting area of study. Reservations are not required; however, make sure to arrive on time.

  3. Bad Boys and Desperados of Old McKinney (Trolley Tour)

    October 13, 2018, 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM @ Chestnut Square, Historic Downtown McKinney

    The notorious, bandit BELLE STARR will be your tour host for this one hour tour of famous outlaw sites and hangouts around old McKinney. The likes of Frank and Jesse James, Sam Bass, the Barrow Gang (Bonnie and Clyde) and others are covered on this tour. The trolley tour is scheduled for Saturday, October 13th: 10:00 AM.   4. Ratrodtober Car & Bike Show #4

    October 13, 2018, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ TUPPS Brewery

    Now in it's fourth year, Ratrodtober is a celebration of historical vehicles and those who build them. While the star of the show is the rat rod, we celebrate every vehicle that is pieced together by its owner. Whether restored back to original, a Frankenstein or somewhere in-between, each vehicle tells a great story. Held at TUPPS Brewery in McKinney, TX, Ratrodtober brings together the finest people, vehicles and beer in all of North Texas. Much like each vehicle is painstakingly crafted, so is the beer. And for that, we can all cheers. There will be no shortage of fun! Visit the vendor village, check out the vehicles, belly up to the bar, try something new at one of the food trucks, rock out to live music and catch all the action of the mini bike races!   5. Texas & Collin County WWI Centennial Commemoration

    During 2018, the U.S. and Texas will observe the 100th anniversary of America's entry into WWI. In observance of the centennial commemoration the Collin County History Museum invites you to our exhibit honoring the role that Texas and Collin County soldiers and women played in the Great War.   6. A.J. Chilson Book Signing

    October 13, 2018, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Half Price Books, McKinney

    Author A.J. Chilson will be having a book signing at Half Price Books in McKinney on Sat. October 13 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Chilson will be signing copies of his children's book "Making God Happy: A Baseball Story", as well as copies of his poetry books. The event is free, and everyone is invited to attend and support the author. To those interested in buying a book, cash is the preferred option. A.J.
