  1. Dinosaurs Live! at The Heard

    September 2, 2017 - February 20, 2018 @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary’s nature trails at the 12th annual Dinosaurs Live! The exhibit always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together. See the dinosaurs move and hear them roar! Photo op and play area dinosaurs will be available as well. This year, the exhibit also features an outdoor fossil dig. The dinosaur trail is jogging stroller friendly (it is not suitable for strollers with small wheels).

  2. Nativity Collection Exhibit

  3. Santa on the Square

    December 4, 2017 - December 17, 2017 @ Southeast corner of the McKinney Performing Arts Center lawn

    Santa is back on McKinney's historic downtown square again this year, and visiting with kiddos in his tiny workshop on the MPAC lawn. Book appointments on the Santa on the Square website. (Dogs are welcome to have photos taken, too!) Proceeds benefit Volunteer McKinney. Through Dec. 17.

  4. Holidays at the Heard

    December 15, 2017 - December 16, 2017 @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    Hundreds of families will bundle up and experience the most unique holiday event in North Texas-one that brings the beauty of the holiday season into nature. Guests will see lights and holiday décor along a half-mile Heard nature trail. In keeping with the Heard's role as a nature preserve, this light display is designed to enhance, rather than overpower, the sanctuary's natural beauty. Children and the young at heart will enjoy the opportunity to have a photo taken with Father Christmas and Mother Nature in s a festive setting. Hot beverages and treats will be available for purchase. Family-friendly entertainment will complement the holiday atmosphere. Local musicians will delight audiences with live holiday music in the Heard outdoor amphitheater.

  5. Third Monday Trade Days

    One of the largest flea markets in North Texas, it features more than 450 vendors. It is held the weekend before the third Monday of each month. Parking $5 on Saturdays and Sundays before 3 pm Admission free. Hours are Friday-Sunday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Fri.–Sun.

  6. A Collection of Favorites: Paintings by David Hobson

    David Hobson’s figural paintings and portraits are honest, faithful, sensitive interpretations of his subjects, skillfully created and greatly valued. In this exhibition, Hobson will be showing new works as well as sharing some of his favorites, some of which have not been shown publicly. Hobson has been studying human character and portraying the human face for over 70 years.
