  1. Dinosaurs Live! Life-Size Animatronic Dinosaurs

    August 31, 2019, 9:00 AM - February 17, 2020, 5:00 PM @ Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

    Let your imagination run wild as you travel back in time along a half-mile nature trail with ten life-size animatronic dinosaurs. During the 14th Annual Dinosaurs Live! Life-Size Animatronic Dinosaurs exhibit, these animatronic dinosaurs will move and roar, providing an experience sure to captivate visitors. This exhibit will also offer interesting facts about both herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs. Children and the young at heart will also have the opportunity to play on stationary baby dinosaurs, a photo-op Tyrannosaurus rex and a photo op Pachyrhinosaurus. This year’s exhibit will also a feature an outdoor hadrosaur fossil dig to inspire future paleontologists. The Dinosaurs Live! exhibit trail is jogging-stroller friendly (umbrella strollers are not recommended), giving families and friends a unique, exciting and educational activity to experience together.

    Nature Story Times are designed primarily for young children and will introduce a different nature-themed book each week. During most of the story times, a puppet, live animal or enrichment items will be included to enhance the experience. These programs should last approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the book covered.

    It’s a Wonderful Life is about the life of George Bailey, a generous and well-meaning man who has become too downcast and tired to continue living. It will take help from a lovable angel to show George what life would be like if he wasn’t born and for George to have a change of heart and understand the true spirit of the holidays. This loveable story is based on the classic holiday movie with a clever twist thrown in: the story is staged as a live radio broadcast. The auditions will be held on October 20 and 21 from 7-10 p.m.

  17. E.J. Wills and KLAK/97.5 Partner Again for Live Broadcast of the Weekly MISD Football Coaches’ Show

    E.J. Wills has renewed its partnership with KLAK radio (97.5) and the MISD Athletic Department to host the 2019 season of the MISD Football Coaches Show. Sponsored this year by two family owned local businesses—Blue Ribbon Roofing and Charred 380—the live radio broadcast, centered on McKinney ISD’s three incredible football teams, returns to the restaurant with a more in-depth, one hour format. The live show will broadcast every Monday night from 8/26 – 11/4 (with the exception of one show on 9/2) from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Zach Bigley, the new voice of MISD football, will anchor most shows. Guests may ask questions, learn about tactics against upcoming rivals, and hear the coaches debrief prior games. There will be give-a-ways; special guest anchors—community leaders, professional players, and sports enthusiasts—and spirit nights for each of the three schools. Come for the show, enjoy “gourmet grub in a pub,” and stay to watch the Monday Night NFL games.
