Bill Smith's Cafe was an instant hit. It marked the beginning of a family business spanning five decades and employing three generations of Smiths. Seven mornings a week you can watch the younger Smith whip up a breakfast to equal the one ""grandma used to make!"" From the beginning the objective was to offer a truly ""home cooked meal."" All of the cafe's pies, yeast rolls, biscuits and gravy are made from scratch. Chicken-fried steak, for which they are famous, is made from real steak - nothing they serve is pre-packaged!

Located just one block east of McKinney’s historic downtown square, this museum in the historic post office building, is one of McKinney’s best kept secrets. The museum is open year round, Thursday through Saturday, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Family research and genealogy projects are welcome. Our archives and family files include information, documentation, and photographs from Collin County. We have a capable group of research volunteers available to assist each Thursday.
