Farmers Market Makes Temporary Move Starting July 29
Posted on July 19, 2017 at 9:16 AM by Beth Shumate
Every week, the Chestnut Square Farmers Market brings hundreds of folks to downtown McKinney, both locals and visitors, to buy some of the best locally-grown produce, dairy, herbs, flowers, baked goods, oils, salsas and more. Chestnut Square faced a special challenge last week - letting all those customers and potential customers as well as 50-some-odd vendors know that they're going to have a change of address for the next few weeks, starting Saturday, July 29.
Here is the message Chestnut Square put out late last week:
"Due to an accelerated schedule on the construction adjacent to Chestnut Square, the Farmers Market is moving [temporarily]! Beginning July 29, we'll be located at Hunt and Tennessee Streets, just north of the downtown square near the library.
There is plenty of nearby surface parking, near City Hall, the lots at Tennessee, Logan & Chestnut, and a lot on Kentucky & Hunt, as well as some street parking.
All of your vendors are looking forward to seeing you - and if you've been absent because parking was a challenge, that will not be an issue any more!
See you at Chestnut Square this week, then July 29 downtown!"
Please watch for updates (either at Chestnut Square's Facebook page or website, or our Facebook page and website) to learn about when the market will be moving back to the historic village property. Until then, you can shop for all the same wonderful goods on the north side of the downtown square.
And don't forget that if parking poses a challenge for you with this change, the Downtown Area Shuttle (DASH) is available to shuttle you - for free! - between the temporary location of Farmers Market and where you park. You can either wave it down or call 469-733-DASH.
