St. Patty's Day Fun in McKinney

leprechaun hatWhat a happy year it is for those who like to get their Irish on! What makes it happy? St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday, setting up the entire weekend for green holiday fun! 

Below are some of the activities that await you in McKinney this St. Patty's Day;

TUPPS Brewery (721 Anderson in the Cotton Mill District)
TUPPS is opening up the taproom early Friday (2 p.m.) to start the festivities. The Head Brewer brewed a special beer just for the day - a layered Irish Red and Irish Dry Stout on Nitro. Arete Gourmet Sliders food truck will be out from 4-10 p.m. featuring Corned Beef Sliders (while supplies last). A DJ takes the stage from 6-10 p.m. to really get the party started. No cover fee. All beers are $5 per beer and $10 per flight. No cover charge.

The Celt Irish Pub (100 N. Tennessee on the downtown square)
The Celt isn't waiting until Friday, March 17, to celebrate their Irish heritage. They have a whole line up of fun events and live music awaiting you that started last week ... but this list we're sharing starts with Wednesday, March 15.

7 p.m.-5 Second Rule Band

Friday 
8 a.m.-Open for Full Irish Breakfast
9 a.m.-Free Guinness Glass Engraving

4 p.m.-Michael Harrison Irish Music
8 p.m.-Slugger's Rule Irish Pub Music

Saturday 
8 p.m.-Seamus Stout Scottish Traditional Music and Rock

Sunday 
10:30 a.m.-Harber/Row Irish Contemporary
3 p.m.-TIMES Irish Session Players

St. Patty's Day Celebration Cooking Class (Kitchenwares on the Square, 213 E. Louisiana)
During this hands-on class on Saturday, you'll learn to make Ultimate Irish Apple Cake, Guinness beef stew with cheddar herb dumplings, and smoked wild Irish salmon with chive pancake. The cost is $69. Registration is required to kim@kitchenwaresonthesquare.com. 469-301-6659. 6:30-8:30 p.m.
 
Delaney's Irish Pub (6150 Eldorado Pwrkway, Ste. 120 at Ridge)
Enjoy a whole weekend, not just a day of shenanigans and malarkey with Delaney's! Great scratch made meals, a wall of 52 beers (green beer? of course!), full bar, and fun! The Southern Couch Band is ready to make your Patty's evening a great one on Friday and The Rafter Burners Band on Saturday.
