Downtown McKinney is one of the most undeniably happening spots for foodies, thanks to farm-to-table, organic and fresh dining options that are regularly the focus of media on a local, regional and even national media. But in addition to great restaurants and top-rated farmers market, the square offers even more for foodies than just dining out.

Two shops in downtown McKinney specialize in helping people continue their foodie experiences at home, not only through cool kitchen gadgets, cookware, home products and food storage options – both stores have this merchandise in spades, making them great fun to explore. No, these two stores - Kitchenwares on the Square and Ettiene Market - not only offer some wonderful tools for creating great cuisine and memorable times in the kitchen and household, they also offer experiences designed to educate and give back!

Kitchenwares on the Square
213 E. Louisiana, 469-301-6659

The Kitchenwares crew keeps busy with after-hours events that teach guests about cooking methods – Big Green Egg demo nights there are a “don’t miss” experience – and a wide array of cuisine from various cultures and holidays featuring guest chefs. Registration is open for the following upcoming classes via email. And if you sign up for their newsletter, you'll get emails when new classes are announced.

Ettiene Market
115 W. Louisiana

Not only is Coryanne Ettiene a food and lifestyle expert, she loves being hands-on with her customers about all sorts of methods for improving their experiences in the kitchen, the supermarket and at home. When not helping them in her downtown market, she shares ideas in her blog and hosts a series of super videos about a wide variety of food preparation, storage and shopping tips, to name a few. (You'll find great tips and video links on her website.)

Watch for classes and workshops coming to Ettiene Market, too!

Also coming from Coryanne's Ettiene Market in the coming months are quarterly Safari Shopping Nights organized by Ettiene, "safari" referring to hunting and gathering. Stores around the square participate with specials, giveaways and sales during this after-hours event when attendees hunt, gather and enjoy exploring participating stores. The first of these was held in December with more to come this year around May, August, October and December.
